On the weekend of 12/13th of June 2010 Pat Farley a long time emeber of the 2 Para Reunion Club, and a close friend of his ran from their homes in Bury Greater Manchester to Blackpoo tower and back again, a distance of 108 miles. This is a huge achievement at any age, never mind for a guy now in his 50#s.. Last year Pat and his mate ran from the tower to their homes to raise money for the 2 Para Reunion Club which in turn would go to help different causes for 2 Para. A total sum of £2.500 was raised, with donations Pat own collection and from the reunion club members. This year Pat was determined to double the previous distance by running both ways and using the occasion to raise yet again more funds for the reunion club. The cub does not charge membership fees or annual subscribtions but of course it does need funds to operate. Apart from arranging the annual reunions the club supprts 2 Para where and when it can. Over the past 5/6 years the club has donated around £18.000 for different projects varying from support for families, purchasing tje miniature medals, or indeed D Coy's run in the London marathon. Without members such as Pat and of course the support of all the other members who help in raising cash we could not offer the help we do to the Battalion.
